Known issues: SQL Server Cluster and standalone Setup

Installation of SQLserver2008 cluster fails on windows2008.(The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007139F)

Installation of SQLServer2005/2008 Fails on Windows2008 Cluster.

SQL Server 2008 Fails to come online on cluster after upgrade – Server is in script upgrade mode. Only administrator can connect at this time.

SQL Server2008: Script level upgrade for database ‘master’ failed because upgrade step ‘sqlagent100_msdb_upgrade.sql’ encountered error 574, state 0, severity 16

Unable to start SQLServer agent resource on cluster after upgrading to 9.00.3186 or Higher

A failure was detected for a previous installation, patch, or repair during configuration for features [SQL_PowerShell_Engine_CNS,SQL_PowerShell_Tools_ANS]. In order to apply this patch package (KB968369), you must resolve any issues with the previous operation that failed.

Problems occur in Windows Server 2008 after you uninstall a SQL Server 2005 failover cluster, or after you install SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2 or a Service Pack 2-based hotfix on a SQL Server 2005 failover cluster

Hotfix of KB937444 is required for SQL Server 2008 on Win 2003 cluster

You cannot find SQL Server cluster resources in Failover Cluster Manager after you install a SQL Server 2005 failover cluster on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008

You receive a warning message on the System Configuration Check page of the SQL Server 2005 Setup program on a computer that is running Windows Vista or a Server Core installation of Windows Server 2008

SQL Server 2005 setup fails when MSXML Core Services 6.0 Service Pack 2 has already been installed
